AC Milan Target Leandro Paredes, Offer for Boca Juniors Captain

By Elite Sport Vizion ·

AC Milan are working to strengthen their midfield, and the latest name to emerge as a potential target is Argentina World Cup winner Leandro Paredes.

According to Argentine journalist Martin Arevalo, speaking on ESPN Argentina, the Rossoneri have shown concrete interest and are reportedly ready to make an important offer for the 32-year-old Boca Juniors midfielder.

Arevalo did not reveal the value of Milan’s proposed offer or Paredes’ position regarding a possible transfer, but stressed that the Italian club’s interest is serious.

However, completing the deal could prove very difficult. Paredes is one of Boca Juniors’ most important players and the club’s captain, having returned to his boyhood club in the summer of 2025.

The Argentine signed a three-year contract running until 2028 after Boca paid around €3.5 million, including bonuses, to bring him back to Buenos Aires.

Paredes knows Italian football extremely well. During his career, he has played in Serie A for Chievo, Roma, Empoli and Juventus, meaning a move to Milan would mark another chapter in a league where he already has considerable experience.

The situation is also connected to potential changes in Ruben Amorim’s squad. The Portuguese coach has suggested that decisions will soon be made regarding several possible departures, which could open the door for new signings.

In midfield, Warren Bondo is looking for a new destination, while Yunus Musah, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Youssouf Fofana have also attracted interest from other clubs.

Jashari and Ricci have also been mentioned in transfer speculation, although Amorim does not appear willing to let them leave. Meanwhile, Rabiot and Modrić are considered key figures in Milan’s plans.

The biggest obstacle to a potential Paredes deal remains Boca Juniors. The Argentine giants have little desire to lose their captain and one of the leaders of their squad.

Paredes’ own intentions could also prove decisive. His return to Boca was an important personal choice, and there have been no clear indications so far that he wants to leave Argentina again.

Milan have set their sights on Paredes. Now the question is whether the Rossoneri can make an offer strong enough to change the plans of both Boca Juniors and the World Cup winner.
