Albanian weightlifting is celebrating another historic achievement on the international stage. Antonino Mullisi has been crowned European youth champion after winning three gold medals and setting two new European youth records at the European Youth and U15 Championships in Kosovo.

The Albanian prodigy delivered an extraordinary performance in the men’s 75 kg category, dominating both disciplines and the overall standings.

Three Gold Medals for Mullisi

Mullisi lifted:

135 kg in the snatch — gold medal and European youth record; 156 kg in the clean and jerk — gold medal; 291 kg in the total — gold medal and European youth record.

With these results, the Albanian weightlifter was crowned champion in the snatch, clean and jerk, and total, completing the competition with a perfect haul of three gold medals.

His 135 kg snatch and 291 kg total established two new European records for his age group.

One of the Category’s Leading Favorites

According to official documentation from the European Weightlifting Federation, Mullisi was born on January 19, 2009, and competed in the men’s youth 75 kg category. He entered the competition with a declared total of 300 kg—the highest on the preliminary entry list for his category.

The European Youth and U15 Championships are being held in Kosovo from August 20 to 27, 2026, bringing together some of the continent’s most promising young weightlifters.

From European Silver to the Continental Crown

Mullisi’s latest triumph confirms his remarkable development. At the 2024 European Championships, he won the silver medal after lifting 111 kg in the snatch, 137 kg in the clean and jerk, and 248 kg in the total.

Two years later, the Albanian athlete has improved his overall result by 43 kg, increasing his total from 248 kg to 291 kg. This progress demonstrates his rapid development and his potential to become one of the leading names in Albanian weightlifting in the years ahead.

Credit to the Athlete and Coaching Staff

This achievement was secured under the guidance of Albanian national team coaches Artur Lagja and Florenc Çela, whose work was rewarded with one of the country’s greatest youth weightlifting results.

The continued support of the president of the Albanian Weightlifting Federation, Elez Gjoza, has also played an important role in the national team’s preparation and representation.

Three gold medals, two European records, and the Albanian flag flying from the highest step of the podium: Antonino Mullisi did not simply win a competition—he wrote a new chapter in the history of Albanian weightlifting.
