Croatia Defeat Albania 3-0, Ending Albanian Campaign in Round Two of the European League 2026
The Albania Men's National Volleyball Team concluded its journey in Round Two of the 2026 CEV Volleyball European League with a defeat against Croatia, one of the strongest and most experienced teams in the competition.
The match, played on Saturday, June 13, was part of Week Two of the tournament, which this year features a new unified format and also serves as a qualification pathway for the 2028 Men's European Volleyball Championship.
Despite the efforts of the Albanian players, Croatia controlled the match from start to finish and secured a convincing 3-0 victory. The Croatians claimed the opening set 25-17, maintained their dominance in the second set with a 25-16 win, and completed the sweep by taking the third set 25-19.
Coming into the match, Croatia carried strong momentum after a commanding 3-0 victory over Georgia, while Albania was hoping to bounce back following a straight-sets loss to Finland in its opening match of Round Two.
Although the results were not what Albania had hoped for, competing at this level provides valuable experience for the national team as it continues working to improve its competitiveness on the European stage.
With the conclusion of the match against Croatia, Albania's participation in Round Two of the 2026 CEV Volleyball European League comes to an end. The coaching staff will now analyze the team's performances and begin preparations for future international competitions.
