FIFA World Cup Awards: Rodri, Cubarsí, Simón and Mbappé Honoured

Rodri, Pau Cubarsí, Unai Simón and Kylian Mbappé were among the players honoured as the FIFA World Cup 2026 reached a spectacular conclusion.
Following an unforgettable tournament, FIFA presented its individual awards after Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 after extra time in the final to lift the World Cup for the second time in the nation’s history.
Spain midfielder Rodri received the adidas Golden Ball as the tournament’s best player. The midfield maestro delivered a series of commanding performances across La Roja’s eight matches and played a decisive role in their historic triumph.
Despite France narrowly missing out on a third consecutive World Cup final, Kylian Mbappé enjoyed an extraordinary individual campaign. The French captain scored an astonishing 10 goals in eight appearances to claim the adidas Golden Boot.
Spain goalkeeper Unai Simón received the adidas Golden Glove after keeping seven clean sheets in eight matches. His remarkable tournament included another shutout in Spain’s 1-0 extra-time victory over Argentina in the final.
Pau Cubarsí continued his spectacular rise by winning the FIFA Best Young Player Award, presented by Aramco. The young defender played a crucial role in a Spanish defence that conceded only one goal throughout the entire tournament.
Lionel Messi also collected two individual honours after leading Argentina to another World Cup final. The legendary captain received both the adidas Silver Ball and Silver Boot.
England midfielder Jude Bellingham completed the list of individual winners by claiming the adidas Bronze Boot, while the Netherlands received the FIFA Fair Play Trophy.
