Finland Dominates Albania in Helsinki, Secures Straight-Sets Victory in European League
The Finland men’s national volleyball team recorded a convincing 3-0 victory over Albania in the second week of the 2026 CEV Volleyball European League on Friday at the Veikkaus Arena in Helsinki.
Finland controlled the match from start to finish, demonstrating superiority in serving, blocking, and attacking while taking full advantage of strong home support. The hosts never allowed Albania to establish momentum and comfortably secured all three points.
For Albania, it was another challenging test against an experienced international opponent. The Red and Blacks fought hard throughout the contest but struggled to find the consistency needed to challenge the Finnish side.
With the victory, Finland moves to three points in the current standings and gains an important advantage during the Helsinki pool weekend. Albania remains without points after the opening day but will have an opportunity to bounce back in its next match against Croatia.
The tournament continues on Saturday when Albania faces Croatia in a crucial match for its hopes in the competition. Meanwhile, Finland and Croatia will conclude the Helsinki mini-tournament on Sunday at the Veikkaus Arena.
