By Elite Sport Vizion ·

Pristina, June 19, 2026 – Kosovo’s women’s national volleyball team has written one of the most memorable chapters in the country’s sporting history, defeating Montenegro in dominant fashion with a 3-0 victory in the CEV Volleyball European League 2026.

Playing in front of a passionate home crowd at the Youth and Sports Palace in Pristina, the Dardanian girls produced a spectacular performance, controlling the match from start to finish and leaving their opponents with no answer.

Total Domination by Kosovo

Kosovo claimed all three sets convincingly:

🏐 Set 1: 25-19

🏐 Set 2: 25-21

🏐 Set 3: 25-15

The team displayed outstanding discipline, organization, and fighting spirit, combining strong defense with efficient attacking play throughout the match.

A Historic First Against Montenegro

This was far more than just another victory.

For the first time ever, Kosovo defeated Montenegro in women's volleyball.

Before this encounter, Montenegro had won every previous meeting between the two national teams, including a 3-0 victory in 2017 and a 3-1 success in 2021. That makes Friday night’s triumph even more significant for Kosovo volleyball.

A Major Turnaround

Kosovo entered the match after a difficult run in the 2026 European League:

Loss vs Spain (1-3) Loss vs Bosnia & Herzegovina (0-3) Loss vs Greece (0-3) Loss vs Portugal (0-3)

However, the team responded in the best possible way, producing a statement performance that could completely change the momentum of its campaign.

Three Crucial Points

The 2026 Women's European League features a new format, with 26 national teams competing in one unified standings table.

By sweeping Montenegro 3-0, Kosovo earned the maximum three points while significantly improving its set ratio, an important factor in the overall standings.

This victory also boosts Kosovo's hopes in the competition, which serves as a qualification pathway for the 2028 Women's European Volleyball Championship (EuroVolley 2028).

A Generation Full of Promise

Kosovo’s national team is built around talented players from leading domestic clubs such as KV Drita and KV Fer Volley.

Among the key names representing the national team are:

Venera Kadriu Bleona Kadriu Loresa Avdyli Elona Fejzullahu Buna Rama Larisa Shehu Agnesa Ukaj

Their performance against Montenegro demonstrated that Kosovo possesses the talent and determination needed to compete at a higher European level.

A Powerful Statement

Only weeks ago, Montenegro was considered one of the stronger teams in the competition. Kosovo not only defeated them but completely outplayed them in every aspect of the game.

The victory sends a clear message across Europe:

Kosovo volleyball is growing rapidly, and the Dardanian women are ready to challenge anyone.

Tonight was not just a victory. Tonight was a declaration.

Bravo girls! Bravo Kosovo! 🇽🇰🏐🔥
