Lukaku Says Yes to Fenerbahçe as Negotiations With Napoli Intensify

By Elite Sport Vizion ·

Fenerbahçe have stepped up negotiations to sign Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku from Napoli, with the 33-year-old reportedly giving his approval to the move.

According to transfer reporters Yağız Sabuncuoğlu and Matteo Moretto, Lukaku has accepted Fenerbahçe’s ambitious sporting project. The Istanbul club must now reach an agreement with Napoli before the transfer can be completed.

Personal Terms Reportedly Agreed

Lukaku is reportedly prepared to sign a two-year contract, potentially including an option for a third season. The proposed financial package is believed to be worth approximately €10 million net per year, including bonuses.

However, no official agreement between Fenerbahçe and Napoli has yet been announced.

Negotiations Over the Transfer Fee

The two clubs remain in discussions over Lukaku’s valuation. Napoli reportedly rejected an initial offer of around €6 million, having previously valued the striker at between €12 million and €15 million.

Recent reports suggest Napoli could now accept approximately €10 million, with Fenerbahçe working to close the remaining gap. Football Italia

Napoli’s position may also be influenced by financial conditions connected to Lukaku’s 2024 transfer from Chelsea, including reports of a sell-on clause benefiting the English club.

A Move That Could Benefit Both Sides

Selling Lukaku would allow Napoli to remove one of the club’s highest salaries from its wage bill. The striker’s future in Naples has become increasingly uncertain following an injury-disrupted campaign and reported disagreements with the club hierarchy.

For Fenerbahçe, Lukaku would represent a major statement of ambition. The Turkish giants are searching for an experienced and physically dominant striker capable of leading their attack domestically and in European competition.

The Belgian international has reportedly rejected interest from Major League Soccer and the Saudi Pro League because he wants to continue competing at a high level in Europe.

Lukaku has given Fenerbahçe the green light—but the transfer will only become official if the Turkish club can now reach a final agreement with Napoli.
