Mirlind Daku Ignites Transfer Battle: Spartak and CSKA Compete for Albanian Striker

Mirlind Daku has become one of the most sought-after names in the Russian summer transfer market. The Albania international’s excellent form has attracted serious interest from two of Moscow’s biggest clubs, Spartak and CSKA.

The 28-year-old Rubin Kazan striker is renowned for his powerful physical presence, tireless work rate and clinical finishing inside the penalty area.

Daku has made an outstanding start to the 2026–27 season, scoring in each of his first two league appearances.

On July 26, he found the net in a 3–1 defeat against Krasnodar. On August 1, he scored a crucial 19th-minute goal in Rubin Kazan’s 2–1 away victory over Akron Togliatti.

Two goals in 180 minutes have further increased his market value and attracted even more interest in the Albanian striker.

Spartak Prepare Their Offer

According to reports in the Russian media, Spartak Moscow are prepared to activate Daku’s release clause, which is believed to be worth approximately €11 million.

The capital club are also reportedly preparing an attractive financial offer for the striker. However, Spartak may first need to make room in their attacking department by selling one of their current forwards.

CSKA Offer €3 Million per Season

CSKA Moscow have also entered the race. The club are reportedly willing to pay around €10–11 million for Daku and offer him an annual salary of €3 million.

However, Rubin Kazan president Marat Safiullin has stated that the club has not yet received an official offer from CSKA.

Salary Is the Main Obstacle

Daku currently has one of the most lucrative contracts at Rubin Kazan. According to reports, his basic salary is estimated at €2.2–2.5 million per year. Including bonuses and other payments, his total annual earnings could reach approximately €3.3 million.

Therefore, any club seeking to sign him must not only activate his release clause but also present the striker with a financial package better than the one he currently receives in Kazan.

Daku Remains Focused on Rubin Kazan

The player’s representatives have confirmed that several major clubs are interested in his services. Nevertheless, Daku remains fully focused on his performances for Rubin Kazan.

The Albanian striker is under contract with the Russian club until June 30, 2029, giving Rubin Kazan considerable leverage in any potential negotiations.

On the pitch, Daku is responding to the transfer speculation in the best possible way—with goals. It now remains to be seen whether Spartak or CSKA will turn their interest into a convincing official offer.
