Myrto Uzuni, 50 Appearances for Albania: Celebrating the Milestone with a Goal!

Myrto Uzuni celebrated his 50th appearance for Albania in the best possible way: by scoring! The Berat-born forward contributed to the 3–0 victory over San Marino in the Nations League, making this milestone in the red-and-black shirt even more special. Uzuni’s journey with the national team began in October 2018. On October 2, coach Christian Panucci called him up for the first time for the friendly against Jordan and the competitive fixture against Israel. His debut came on October 10, 2018, in the 0–0 draw between Albania and Jordan. Uzuni came on in the second half, beginning a journey that has now reached 50 appearances. Four days later, against Israel in the Nations League, he made his competitive debut, playing the full 90 minutes. He had to wait until November 11, 2020, for his first international goal. In the friendly against Kosovo at Elbasan Arena, Uzuni scored Albania’s second goal in a match that ended in a 2–1 victory. His latest goal against San Marino brought his tally to 50 appearances and seven goals. Three of those goals have come against San Marino, with the other four scored against Kosovo, Spain, Israel and Andorra. Particularly memorable was his goal against Spain on March 26, 2022, when the forward temporarily drew Albania level in the friendly played near Barcelona. From Berat to international football, Uzuni has built his career through hard work and perseverance. His journey through Tomori, Apolonia, Laçi, Lokomotiva Zagreb, Ferencváros, Granada and Austin FC reflects the progress of a player who has consistently sought to reach higher levels. Fifty appearances with the eagle on his chest, seven goals and a milestone celebrated with a victory. A proud moment for Myrto Uzuni—and motivation to keep giving more for Albania!
