Real Madrid Continue Their Pursuit of Bastoni as Inter Demand €70 Million

Real Madrid continue to show strong interest in Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni. According to Spanish newspaper AS, head coach José Mourinho wants another elite centre-back to complete his defensive revolution.

The request comes despite the fact that the Spanish giants have already secured the services of Ibrahima Konaté, Marc Cucurella and Denzel Dumfries.

Inter Refuse to Lower Their Price: Bastoni Valued at €70 Million

Inter’s management, led by Beppe Marotta, have set a clear asking price of €70 million for Alessandro Bastoni.

The Nerazzurri’s position is firm. The Italian club are unwilling to offer a discount or enter negotiations for a lower amount. It is the same figure Inter previously demanded from Barcelona before the Catalan option was definitively abandoned.

Bastoni Is Mourinho’s Preferred Target

José Mourinho considers Bastoni the ideal signing to complete Real Madrid’s defence. The Portuguese coach admires the Italian’s technical qualities, experience and ability to build attacks from the back.

Real Madrid had initially identified Nico Schlotterbeck as their final defensive addition. However, after talks for the German defender failed, the club’s management returned its attention to Bastoni.

The Italian international’s name had already emerged at the beginning of the transfer window, following Inter’s difficulties during the closing stages of the season. Although the matter appeared to have settled, Madrid’s interest has now returned to the forefront.

Real Madrid Must Sell Before Making an Offer

Despite their contacts and strong interest, Real Madrid officials consider Inter’s €70 million asking price particularly expensive.

The Spanish club have informed Mourinho that an official offer for Bastoni can only be submitted after the squad has been reduced and several players have been sold.

Raúl Asensio is reportedly among the leading candidates to leave. Only after creating space in the squad and generating additional funds can Real Madrid launch an official move for the Inter defender.

Agent Leaves the Door Open to a Transfer

Bastoni’s agent, Tullio Tinti, recently stated that the defender remains attached and loyal to Inter.

However, he did not completely rule out a transfer if an offer arrives that fully satisfies the Italian club financially and is also convincing for the player.

Real Madrid intend to complete at least two more major signings during the transfer window—one in defence and another in attack, particularly if Vinícius Júnior leaves the Santiago Bernabéu.

For the defensive department, Alessandro Bastoni remains José Mourinho’s preferred target.
