Shkëndija: We’re the Real BRAVO! Red-and-Blacks Complete Comeback and Keep European Dream Alive

Shkëndija produced a magnificent comeback in Skopje, defeating NK Bravo 3–1 and securing qualification for the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.

After losing the first leg 2–1 in Slovenia, the Red-and-Blacks advanced 4–3 on aggregate and will now face Scottish side Hibernian.

The match at the “Todor Proeski” Stadium started badly for Artim Pollozhani’s team. Jovan Stanković put Bravo ahead in the 17th minute, extending the Slovenian club’s aggregate advantage to 3–1.

However, Shkëndija refused to surrender. Following sustained pressure, Drilon Islami’s cross was diverted into his own net by Jovan Gašper in the 36th minute, making it 1–1.

The Red-and-Blacks began the second half with tremendous intensity. Only five minutes after the restart, Almir Kryeziu headed home Tamba’s assist to give Shkëndija a 2–1 lead.

Shkëndija still needed another goal to qualify—and it arrived in the 88th minute. Marko Gjorgjievski scored with a header, his first goal in the red-and-black shirt, sparking wild celebrations inside the stadium.

Head coach Artim Pollozhani praised his players’ performance, character and psychological response after conceding the opening goal.

“We managed the match extremely well. The credit belongs entirely to the players. What pleased me most was that we never lowered the tempo and continued creating chances,” Pollozhani said.

According to the coach, Shkëndija are building a winning mentality, while the players coming off the bench continue to make a decisive contribution in European matches.

However, Pollozhani acknowledged that the team must improve its finishing, defensive play and strength in physical duels.

“All three goals we conceded against Bravo came far too easily. We must work on the cynical side of the game and become stronger in challenges,” he emphasized.

Pollozhani also thanked the supporters, particularly the “Ballistët,” who created a powerful atmosphere in Skopje.

“Shkëndija have supporters not only in Tetovo but also in other cities. We must repay their support by producing attractive performances,” the coach said.

Shkëndija now turn their attention to Hibernian. The first leg will be played in Edinburgh on August 6, 2026.
