Spain midfielder Rodri and his teammates have become the first world champions to receive official FIFA World Cup championship rings following their historic victory over Argentina.

La Roja defeated the defending champions 1-0 after extra time at New York New Jersey Stadium, with Ferran Torres scoring the decisive goal in the 106th minute.

The triumph delivered Spain’s second World Cup title—and introduced a new tradition inspired by major North American sports.

Historic presentation after the final

Immediately following the match, Spain captain Rodri and head coach Luis de la Fuente were presented with provisional championship rings during the celebrations on the pitch.

FIFA is producing 30 personalized rings for Spain’s victorious players and members of the coaching staff. The custom-fitted versions will be officially distributed later after being tailored for each recipient.

A design inspired by the NFL and NBA

The concept was inspired by the championship-ring tradition associated with major North American leagues such as the NFL and NBA.

Each ring features an intricate three-dimensional representation of the FIFA World Cup trophy on one side. The other side celebrates Spain’s national identity and includes details commemorating the country’s 2026 triumph.

Every player and staff member’s ring will be individually personalized, transforming it into a unique reminder of Spain’s historic campaign.

Limited collection available to supporters

The players’ rings form part of an extremely limited collection of 2,026 individually numbered pieces—a figure chosen to represent the tournament year.

Thirty rings have been reserved for Spain’s players and coaching staff, while the remaining 1,996 will be made available to supporters worldwide as officially licensed merchandise.

The official retail price has been set at $12,000 per ring, despite early reports suggesting that the price could reach as high as $150,000.

How supporters can purchase a ring

Supporters can purchase an official replica through a structured reservation system hosted on FIFA’s official tournament platform.

Before the final, buyers were able to reserve a ring connected to one of the two finalist teams by paying a $1,200 deposit.

Because Spain defeated Argentina in the final, supporters who reserved a Spain championship ring will be invited to pay the remaining $10,800 balance to complete their purchase.

Those who placed a deposit on an Argentina championship ring will receive a full refund.

Each officially licensed supporters’ ring will be:
