Spalletti Doesn’t Change His Mind on Zhegrova: Kosovo Star Remains on the Transfer Market

Luciano Spalletti has not changed his position on Edon Zhegrova. Despite the Kosovo international’s clear desire to stay at Juventus, the Bianconeri continue to consider him among the players who could leave during the summer transfer window.

The situation attracted even more attention after the August 5, 2026 friendly in Hong Kong against Chelsea. Zhegrova was the man who decided the match, scoring a superb goal to give Juventus a 1–0 victory.

After the game, the winger said that he had overcome the groin problems that troubled him last season and made it clear that he wants to fight for his place in the team.

However, Spalletti’s plans and the club’s transfer strategy appear to be heading in a different direction.

According to reports, the Italian coach continues to have doubts about Zhegrova’s tactical suitability. Spalletti demands a more collective style of play, while Zhegrova is renowned for his outstanding one-on-one ability and his tendency to seek individual solutions.

Competition on the wings is another major factor. Juventus currently have Kenan Yildiz, Jeremie Boga, Francisco Conceição, Kerim Alajbegovic, Nico Gonzalez and Edon Zhegrova competing for just two positions.

For now, the club’s position remains clear: Juventus are prepared to consider offers for Zhegrova, either on a permanent transfer or a loan deal with an option to buy.

The situation presents an interesting paradox: Zhegrova is delivering on the pitch and wants to stay, but that may still not be enough to change Spalletti’s plans.
