The “Submarine” Surfaces and Reaches Level Three! Dinamo City Dominate Aluminij
“Every round becomes more difficult. We do not have much time because our next match is on Tuesday. Starting tomorrow, we will begin our analysis and preparations,” Daja concluded.
Dinamo City’s European dream continues. Ilir Daja’s side defeated Aluminij 3–0 at the Elbasan Arena to qualify for the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.
Following a 1–1 draw in the first leg in Slovenia, the Tirana Blues advanced with a commanding 4–1 aggregate victory.
Lorenco Vila opened the scoring in the 24th minute, finishing accurately after an assist from Hekuran Berisha.
Dinamo struck again shortly before halftime. In the 43rd minute, Klevi Qefalija scored the second goal following a pass from Ysni Ismaili, giving his team a crucial advantage.
The victory and qualification were sealed in the 77th minute. Fabjan Përndreca headed home Naser Aliji’s cross to make the final score 3–0.
Dinamo City delivered a highly disciplined tactical performance, neutralizing Aluminij’s counterattacks and efficiently converting their opportunities.
Head coach Ilir Daja praised his players’ sacrifice and character, emphasizing that the Slovenian opponents were extremely well organized.
“It was a difficult match, especially following the draw in Slovenia. We knew we were facing a tactically disciplined team that defends well and possesses a dangerous counterattack. We responded in the right way,” Daja said.
The coach highlighted the contribution of the entire squad, including Naser Aliji, who played despite having a fever.
“From Bruno Dita to Aliji, who played with a fever, every player gave his maximum. All the credit belongs to the players because they never gave up and made sacrifices until the end,” he added.
According to Daja, scoring three goals against a team that rarely concedes was particularly satisfying.
“It is difficult to score against this team. We gradually took control of the match and converted the opportunities we created in front of goal,” the Dinamo coach emphasized.
The qualification is even more impressive because Dinamo had already eliminated Astana in the previous round, overturning a 1–0 first-leg defeat with a magnificent 4–1 victory after extra time.
Now the “Submarine” has fully surfaced and is sailing toward the third qualifying round, where Latvian club FK Auda awaits.
“Every round becomes more difficult. We do not have much time because our next match is on Tuesday. Starting tomorrow, we will begin our analysis and preparations,” Daja concluded.
